I'm a geologist in real life. I know my faults and take nothing for granite. Puns are invited, but remember, be gneiss!

Try talking about sinkholes. -
-
Re: Geology for a new type of pun-ishment.
Wed, June 1, 2011 - 10:36 AM**TRUE STORY**
I was talking with some fellow engineering geologists last week about new developments in culvert design and remediation, and some of the technological advancements that had been made lately. My supervisor asked me why I went to the meeting. I told him that I just wanted to see what new things were coming down the pipe.
He ejected me from his office.
"Bad punster! Begone!"
YES. My work was done.
-
Re: Geology for a new type of pun-ishment.
Wed, June 1, 2011 - 11:59 AM>>>Try talking about sinkholes.<<<
I can't sink holes. They're already at rock bottom. Have you ever been out drinking with Harry Lime--stoned? It's no easy ride on a shear fault, bereave me.
Oh, holy crap, I'm devolving into an obligative cavernicole.

Re: Geology for a new type of pun-ishment.
Thu, April 26, 2012 - 11:19 PMA gentleman from our chemical lab came to see me about rock chemical analyses he'd done. I told him that he should be glad He wasn't dealing with Cargill or Morton, because then he'd have to take his numbers with a grain of salt. -

Re: Geology for a new type of pun-ishment.
Fri, April 27, 2012 - 11:08 AMI'm an old fossil myself. Such an old fossil, I'm practically a trilobite. Not exactly a pun, I know, so sue me from here to the Paleozoic.

Only down in Australia is Ediacaran (Edie a -caring)
Just like drilling for oil. I'm working at the bottom of the barrel with these puns.
But that's OK...I know my faults.
In the middle of the night, I still think that a double mattress king bed pushing apart is like a mid-ocean ridge with a spreading center. -
